We returned to deliver a strong
and loud international message!

Our third time at Lefkada and we were thrilled to reunite with our old friends and also make new ones. But the main purpose of our visit were the actions we took and their brilliant outcome!

Underwater cleaning at the island’s port that led to the withdrawal of 2,5 tons of ghost nets as well as a huge quantity of other litter, while we also performed a great number of research activities.

The contribution of the Municipality and the local fishermen communities was of great importance and immensely crucial for the success of our missions as the team spirit and the very smooth cooperation we had made those huge challenges seem easy tasks and, of course, led to highly efficient results.

Our visit to our marine litter station on the island proved that it works seamlessly, and we are very proud for the local authorities and the people who have made this a reality.

On top of all that and maybe one of the most significant rewards for all of us was the coverage of our two-day mission by a legendary, international news agency!

We are all in anticipation of the produced material so that our message is more powerful and loud! As for Aegean Rebreath’s team, Lefkada is a fundamental part of our organization’s core and another “home” for us in the Greek seas!
